sales since no two quotes are ever the same.
Finding the Right T3 Provider
Telecommunications contracts can be much like a marriage and as we all know there are good and bad marriages. The fact is, when you enter into a telecommunications contract with a T3 provider for reasonalble amount of bandwidth or voice service you will have to enter into a long term contract. Telecommunications contracts for T3's and T3's typically range from 1 years to 3 years. Anything longer than a 3 year contract is usually only seen in very large applicatons like OC3 and OC12 or complex frame relay connections with many nodes. While the term of the contract will not be a problem if you have the right provider, the contract could prove extrememly burdomsome with the wrong provider.
T3 Internet Connection Basics
While understanding the service may be somewhat straightforward, getting the service implemented is not always so easy. Like any business decision, a switch in T3 providers should be properly researched. You probably don't have time to listen to all carriers sales pitches that you should in order to get the best service, however. Consider shopping in real time by using a broker at T3 Price Quote. While a broker is always a time saver in telecom shopping, the creators of Shop4T3.com have made it even easier to shop for T3 service by introducing the first real-time bandwidth and loop calculator.
The Secrets of Fractional T3
Although the price reduction is not what you might expect it to be, this may put a T3 in your budget and be a great way to get dedicated service into your building. Once you have fractional service upgrading to full service is easy. Fractional service typically comes in 256Kbps increments from 256Kbps all the way to a full T3 at 1.5Mbps. Find the service that's right for you, but if you are supporting critical services think reliability. Reliability becomes critical when customers or employees depend on your connection for immediate responses. If your customers use your connection to access your databases or your server or the internet then reliability of your connection is critical. If your employees depend on your connections because you host the e-mail server in house or host web servers or ASP type products, your connections is considered critical. A critical connection can be viewed much like a lifeline, without which your business would be negatively impacted.

DS1 Service for Less Than $500
We recommend the use of brokers in the search for service and we also recommend using a broker to sign up for your service. Many people believe they can "beat the system" by contacting a broker to get pricing and other information as quickly as possible and will then go straight to the carrier believing they can get better service. This "end-run" process is actually a good way to cut yourself out of some of the biggest advantages of having a broker. Brokers don't mark up the price of services. They offer the same price you would get if you did go direct to the company. The advantage of ordering through a broker is that you will get a second channel of customer service. If the company is not performing to expectation you will always be able to go back to your broker who puts a significant volume through the carrier. A broker is much more likely to get the companies attention and have your problem solved. In our opinion, a broker is the only way to go!
The Art of Pricing a T3 Line
While some people may enjoy a trip to the local shopping mall, shopping for telecommunication services like a T3 line has never been fun. If you happen to be looking for a dedicated voice line you may call the local phone company. Chances are you'll be passed around to three or four different people who can't handle your request for a T3 line. When you finally speak with someone who can answer your questions you'll go through a litany of questions that don't get to the point of your call which is, "How much do I have to pay".
DS3 Service in the Los Angeles Market
In a buyers market remember that you can push and probably get concessions from the carrier but also remember that all carriers are not created equally. Many carriers may appear to offer a bargain price but you may be several hops from the internet and have a problem with latency. You may also be using a small carrier that hasn't actually checked the capacity of the CO before you sign your contract and can't even deliver the service they promised. The only way you'll discover this is when you start using your connection and find that at peak traffic times your connection is bogged down at a level below that which was guaranteed.
Is a T3 Connection Better than DSL?
Many customers are extremely price sensitive and cannot afford the cost of a T3 which can be as much as 20 times more expensive than a full T3 connection. Residential customers who are most sensitive to price should not consider a T3 connection unless then have a business reason to pay for such a circuit and cannot access DSL service. You may get lucky and find a T3 connections that is low cost which would give you both price and realiability but be careful. Many T3's sold for less than $600 are not truely dedicated circuits and are oversubcribed. In short, if price is your critical factor go with DSL. If reliability is the critical factor purchase a dedicated T3.
